John McGraw waived King, a substitute outfielder, to the Phillies in 1921 but reacquired him in 1922. As a late-inning replacement in the final game of the '22 WS, King singled home the insurance run that wrapped up a 5-3 win and a four-game sweep for the Giants over the Yankees. (JK)
