After a 7-7 rookie half season with Boston in 1951, Kiely went into the army. Returning in 1954, he was demoted to the bullpen. Kiely led Pacific Coast League relievers in 1957, going 21-6, and saved 12 for the Red Sox in 1958. (JK)
