Marty, older brother of outfielder Joe Keough, spent his 11 ML seasons as a part-timer.
In 1962, his first year in Cincinnati, he hit a personal-best .278 with seven HR
in 111 games. His son Matt pitched for Oakland.

»March 10, 1960: In Scottsdale, Arizona, Red Sox OF Marty Keough and pitcher Dave Hillman are injured in an auto accident.
»June 13, 1960:
The Indians trade C Russ Nixon and OF Carroll Hardy to the Red Sox for Marty Keough and P Ted Bowsfield. Nixon had been traded in March to the Red Sox for Sammy White, but the deal fell through when White refused to report. Hardy once pinch hit for Roger Maris in Cleveland, and will do the same for Ted Williams this year, the only time Williams will ever have a pinch hitter.

Trailing the Mets 5–1 in the 7th at Crosley Field, pinch hitter Marty Keough belts a 3-run homer and Hal Smith adds a 2-run pinch single in the 8th for a 6–5 Reds win.

The Reds belt the Mets, 6–1, for their 7th straight win, the longest in the NL this season. Marty Keough drives in half the runs with a single and double. The Reds are now a half-game in back of the Phils.
