After ten years in the minors, Kennedy filled in as Cincinnati's second baseman in 1978-79 while Joe Morgan was hurt. After Morgan signed with Houston as a free agent, Kennedy lost the second base job in 1980 to Ron Oester. His brother Jim was a Cardinal infielder in 1970. (JCA)
