With the exception of seven games in 1983 with the Giants, Johnson has spent his
entire ML career with Montreal. He came up as a second baseman and has played first
base in recent years, but he is primarily a pinch hitter. He led the NL in pinch
hits in 1987 (17-for-61, .279) and 1988 (22-for-64, .344), and in pinch at-bats in
'89.
