Originally a third baseman in the Mets' system, Johnson's longest ML stint without a trip to the minors was 1970-73. With the division-winning 1971 Giants, he led NL relievers with 12 wins and 9 losses and recorded 18 saves. He retired with 41 lifetime saves. (JCA)
