FROM THE BASEBALL CHRONOLOGY
» June 14, 1991: In a trade that upsets the Reds players, Cincy sends minor league prospect Reggie Jefferson to Cleveland for minor leaguer Tim Costo. Jefferson hit .417 in spring training, was brought up in May and contracted pneumonia June 4. Rather than put him on the disabled list, the Reds chose to "designate him for assignment," meaning that after 10 days they had to trade him or risk losing him.

» December 20, 1993: The Indians trade SS Felix Fermin and 1B Reggie Jefferson to the Mariners in exchange for SS Omar Vizquel.

» April 24, 1996: Reggie Jefferson's 3rd double of the game breaks a 7th-inning tie as Boston edges the Rangers 11–9. Texas is led by unlikely slugger Kevin Elster, who slugs homers in the 2nd and 3rd for five RBIs.

» May 7, 1997: At Fenway, Red Sox C Scott Hatteberg hits a pair of homers—his first two in the majors—to pace the Sox to an 11–3 win over the Twins. Teammate Reggie Jefferson also hits a pair of homers.
