Jacobson, a great minor league hitter, played on seven straight International League Baltimore Oriole championship teams (1919-25). He hit .404 to lead the league in batting in 1920. He made the equivalent of major league wages and pocketed postseason shares with the independently owned team. His few major league opportunities came before he reached his peak and after he had passed it. (JK)
