Recently recalled 1B Brian Hunter of the Braves hits a home run in Atlanta's 7-4 loss to Pittsburgh while his former minor league team, the Richmond Braves, is finishing a suspended game against Pawtucket. Hunter had homered in that game before it was called, giving him round-trippers in the major and minor leagues on the same day.

Atlanta's Tom Glavine (18–3) leaves after seven innings and Randy St. Claire and Mike Stanton mop up a 15–0 whitewash over Pittsburgh. Lonnie Smith has five hits and Brian Hunter and Otis Nixon four apiece for the Braves. St. Claire, in his 2nd year with Atlanta, along with his father Ebba, is the first father-son pair to play for the Braves.
» October 24, 1991: The Braves win their 3rd game in a row, 14-5, to take the Series lead. Lonnie Smith, David Justice, and Brian Hunter pound out home runs, with Smith becoming the 1st player to homer in three consecutive Series games since Reggie Jackson in 1977. Smith became Atlanta's starting LF when Otis Nixon was suspended for failing a drug test in September.
» July 4, 1992: In Atlanta's 4–2 win over the Cubs, Brave SS Jeff Blauser hits a 2–run home run in the 1st inning to start the scoring. It is the 1,776th big league homer hit on the holiday. Brian Hunter adds a solo shot to back Charlie Leibrandt (7–3).
» August 14, 1992: Atlanta OF Lonnie Smith gets five hits, and drives home six runs, in the Braves’ 15-0 whitewashing of the Pirates. Brian Hunter and Otis Nixon each have four hits. Tommy Glavine coasts to his 18th win and his league leading fifth shutout. Starter Zane Smith allows four runs in a third of an inning to lose.

Atlanta gets a 3-run home run from Brian Hunter and a 2-run homer from Bret Boone to edge the Reds, 8–7. Bret's brother Aaron Boone homers for the Reds, as does Sean Casey as the Reds lose for the 8th time in nine meetings with Atlanta. Their victory two days ago ended the Braves 10-game win streak.
» January 10, 2001: The Phillies sign free agent OF Brian Hunter to a contract, while the Cubs ink free agent INF Ron Coomer to a contract. Coomer will go on the DL April 4 with a knee injury, opening the door for Julio Zuleta.
