A career reliever, Huismann won the Allie Reynolds Award as the top pitcher in the
American Association with 34 saves and a 2.04 ERA at Omaha in 1985. He was traded
to Seattle in May 1986 and then to Cleveland a year later, and was released by the
Indians in the spring of 1988 before signing a minor league contract with the Tigers.
