After going 7-24 with the last-place Cardinals of 1898, Hughey led the NL in losses with a 4-30 mark for the incredible Cleveland Spiders of 1899, generally considered the worst team ever in the NL. His nickname referred to his hometown, Coldwater, Michigan. (BC)
