After hitting .266 and .259 as a platoon player for Minnesota in 1970-71, Vietnam
veteran Holt was sent down to the Pacific Coast League. Recalled in '73, he hit .297
and knocked 11 homers in 132 games. When he slumped the next year, he was traded
to the A's. At Oakland he was mainly a pinch hitter, leading the AL in pinch at-bats
and hits in 1975.
