Journeyman Hoag served as a reserve on four Yankee pennant-winners. He had extremely small feet which required special shoes, and somehow supported a 5'11" 180-lb body. In a career-high 129 games as the 1939 Browns' right fielder, Hoag hit .295 with 10 HR. (JK)
