Hillegas (pronounced HILL-uh-gus) pitched well after joining the White Sox in a September 1988 trade, going 3-2 with a 3.15 ERA. But he pitched so badly at the start of 1989 that he was relegated to the bullpen, and after spending most of the 1990 season in the minors he was traded to Cleveland with Eric King for Cory Snyder. Hillegas spent the next three seasons with three different teams, bottoming out with a 1-8 campaign for the Yankees in 1992. (JFC/JGR)
