A burly man with some raw power, Helms was unable to hold down the Braves' first base job after Rico Brogna retired in July 2001, losing the job to Julio Franco. Aside from a monster two-homer, seven-ribbie day on August 4, 2001, Helms was unimpressive, batting just .222 for the year. (GL)
