After leading the Twins' 1982 pitching staff in starts (32) and strikeouts (129),
Havens was their Opening Day pitcher in 1983, but he was twice sent down, and finished
with an 8.18 ERA. The International League strikeout leader in 1984 and 1985, he
returned to the majors as a middle reliever.
