A sinkerballing reliever, the slender Hartenstein was nicknamed Twiggy by teammate
Billy Williams. At his best as a rookie with the 1967 Cubs, he was 9-5 with ten saves.
Hartenstein became a ML pitching coach with Cleveland and Milwaukee.
