» June 6, 1983: The Twins select pitcher Tim Belcher with the first pick in the annual June free-agent draft, but Belcher will reject their $125,000 signing bonus offer and pitch for Team USA in the Pan American Games instead. He is the only first-rounder who doesn't sign. Belcher will be the first selected in the January 1984 draft. The Twins 2nd round pick, P Billy Swift, also doesn't sign. The Reds take Kurt Stillwell with the 2nd pick overall and Chris Sabo on round 2. Roger Clemens is taken with the 19th pick. The A's get Terry Steinbach, Brian Dorsett, and Greg Cadaret on the 9th, 10th and 11th rounds. The Phillies pick Ricky Jordan on the 1st round. The Reds pick up Stillwell in the 1st round, Sabo and Joe Oliver in the 2nd round, Lenny Harris (5th) and Jeff Montgomery (9th). » July 18, 1989:
The Dodgers trade P Tim Leary and SS Mariano Duncan to the Reds for OF Kal Daniels and IF Lenny Harris.
» July 26, 1991: Against the Dodgers, Montreal's Mark Gardner pitches a no-hitter for nine innings before Lenny Harris beats out an infield single in the 10th. The Dodgers get two more hits, including an RBI single by Darryl Strawberry, to plate the only run of the contest. After a 2-out walk in the 1st to Eddie Murray, Gardner retires 19 in a row. The Expos manage only two hits themselves against the combined efforts of Orel Hershiser, Kevin Gross, and Jay Howell. Gardner is the 11th pitcher to lose a no-hitter after nine innings; the last being Jim Maloney, on June 14, 1965, and the first pitcher to hurl nine no-hit innings against the Dodgers since Johnny Vander Meer, in 1938.

Bonehead baserunning almost costs the Dodgers a win over the Reds. With one out in the 11th, and the score 3–3, L.A. has Jose Offerman on 3B, with Brett Butler on 1B. When Lenny Harris hits a ground ball, Offerman tries to score but fails to touch the plate and is tagged out on the throw. Harris is called out for passing Butler, who inexplicably stands watching the play. But the Dodgers rally with three runs in the 12th to win, 6–5. Eddie Murray hits his 1st triple of the year and Eric Karros has his 1st ML hit, a double, before Joey Hamilton's game winning single. L.A. sets a NL-record in the four 1/2 hour marathon by using 27 player, including nine pitchers. The Reds use 19.

The Mets trade P John Hudek to the Reds in exchange for OF Lenny Harris.

In three pennant insurance moves, the Astros obtain vet Stan Javier from the Giants for P Joe Messman; the Diamondbacks get IF-OF Lenny Harris from the Rockies in exchange for IF Belvani Martinez; and the Indians pick up the once highly touted Tyler Houston from the Cubs for P Richard Negrette. Houston will prove valuable at 3B.

The Expos defeat the Mets, 8-6, as NY's Lenny Harris ties Manny Mota's major-league record with his 150th career pinch hit.

Lenny Harris breaks Manny Mota's all-time mark for pinch hits with the 151st of his career as the Mets defeat the Expos, 4-0.
» January 21, 2002: In a complicated three–team deal, the Colorado Rockies trade Alex Ochoa and two prospects to the Mets for veterans Benny Agbayani and Todd Zeile. The Rocks will pay $2 mil of Zeile's $6 million contract, while the Mets agree to pay $3.25 million of it, plus a $500,000 buyout payment on the contract. The Mets receive minor leaguers Ross Gload and Craig House from Colorado. The 3rd team in the deal, the Brewers, pay $250,000 of it. The Brewers then send slugger Jeremy Burnitz, starter Jeff D'Amico, INF Lou Collier, and two prospects to the Mets. New York ships pinchhitter/IF Lenny Harris, P Glendon Rusch, and Ochoa to Milwaukee. The Mets have now replaced half of their 2001 roster.
