Gregory bore an uncanny resemblance to and copied the delivery of White Sox ace Ted Lyons. He became Lyons' protege and constant companion. After pitching well late in 1932, he was slated to be Chicago's third starter in 1933, but reported overweight and was ineffective. (RL)
