Grace was a platoon catcher at Pittsburgh in 1931-35. In 1932 he set NL records with 110 consecutive errorless games (400 chances) and fewest errors (one) in 100 or more games (114). (ME)

» September 8, 1932: In the Pirates 12–2 loss to Brooklyn, Buc C Earl Grace makes a wild throw to end a streak of 110 consecutive errorless games. It is Grace's only error of the season for a NL record. Must be something in the air as seven E's are recorded.

» May 1, 1933: Earl Grace and Arky Vaughan slug grand slams for the Pirates and Bill Swift coasts to a 10–0 win over the Phillies.

» December 21, 1935: Pittsburgh sends P Claude Passeau and C Earl Grace to the Phils for C Al Todd. Passeau will have three decent seasons before blossoming with the Cubs.

» April 26, 1936: In a ragged game featuring 11 errors, the Dodgers over seven errors to beat the Phils, 10–7. Adding to the miscues, Brooklyn SS Ben Geraghty reaches base twice on interference (tipped bat) by Philadelphia C Earl Grace for a ML record.
