The low-key Goryl spent 20 consecutive years with the Twins organization as a utility
infielder, a minor league player and manager, a major league coach, and, finally,
the Twins' manager when Gene Mauch resigned in August 1980. Replaced by Billy Gardner
in 1981, Goryl became Cleveland's third base coach.
