With the Senators in 1959, Fitz Gerald became the first ML player to hit into a triple
play on Opening Day. In a 1953 game, the catcher turned a rare unassisted double
play. He was one of seven brothers who barnstormed as the Traveling Fitz Gerald Basketball
Team.
