The 6'3" Garvin was taken by Toronto from Minnesota in the 1976 expansion draft. Going 10-18 in 1977 and picking off an unofficial record 22 baserunners, he was named to several all-rookie teams. A reliever after a 1979 arm injury, he set a club record with 61 appearances in 1980. (EW)
