Ken Forsch and his brother Bob are the only brothers to hurl no-hitters (Ken's coming on April 7, 1979, against Atlanta) and only the third pair of brothers to win more than 100 games each. Ken coupled a forkball with his fastball to fashion a 16-year ML career. In 1976 he was named to the NL All-Star team as a reliever and finished the season with 19 saves for the Astros. In 1981 he was named to the AL team for his work as a starter with the Angels. (FJO)
    FROM THE BASEBALL CHRONOLOGY
» July 21, 1972: Billy Williams drives in six runs to lead the Cubs to an 11–3 win over the Astros. Williams has four hits, including a double and homer to give Bill Bonham (1–0) his only win of the year. Ken Forsch takes the loss.

» June 21, 1973: Houston's Lee May collects three home runs and a single in a 12–2 win over San Diego. The bright side for the Pads is Dave Winfield's first ML homer, off Ken Forsch.

» July 14, 1978: Houston's Ken Forsch defeats the Expos twice in extra innings. He pitches two innings in the first game, winning 4–3 in the 13th, and comes back for two in the second, winning 5–4 in the 10th.

» April 7, 1979: In the earliest no-hitter in ML history, the Astros Ken Forsch shuts downs the Braves 6–0. Together with Bob Forsch, who hurled a no-hitter in 1978, the brothers become the first to pitch no-hit games.

» April 1, 1981: Houston trades P Ken Forsch to the Angels for INF Dickie Thon.
