A solidly built, 6'4" Cleveland native, Ford threw a fastball, knuckle curve, changeup, and slider. In his ML debut, he shut out Chicago for 8-1/3 innings and won 1-0. Primarily a long reliever who'd get a spot start, he appeared in a career-high 25 games in 1980. (EW)
