Felske came up with his hometown Cubs but never won a job in the majors. After Phillies GM Paul Owens decided to stop managing, he hired organization man Felske. Philadelphia finished second under Felske in 1986 but was 21-1/2 games behind the Mets. He was fired while at 29-32 in 1987 after another slow start by the Phillies. (JFC)
