A strong-armed centerfielder with a weak bat, Dobbs had a short ML career. He managed 25 years in the minors, 23 in the Southern Association, and compiled a .563 winning percentage and six league championships. He was co-owner of the Charlotte team of the Piedmont League at his death. (TG)
