» August 3, 1960: Frank Lane trades managers with Detroit's GM Bill DeWitt. The Indians Joe Gordon (49-46) is dealt to the Tigers for Jimmy Dykes (44-52). For one game, until the pair can change places, Jo-Jo White pilots the Indians and Billy Hitchcock guides the Tigers.

» October 3, 1960: Joe Gordon (26-31) resigns as manager of the Tigers, blaming interference by from club president Bill DeWitt. Gordon will be named manager of the KC Athletics, replacing Bob Elliott.

» October 11, 1960: Radio-television executive John Fetzer buys a controlling interest of the Tigers, giving one man control of the team for the first time since Walter Briggs died in 1952. He offers club president Bill DeWitt a job as his assistant.

» December 18, 1961: Bill DeWitt is elected president of the Reds, and Stanley Kess, chairman of the board.

» December 31, 1962: The state of Ohio withdraws a suit against the Reds when owner Bill DeWitt agrees in writing that the club will stay in Cincinnati for 10 years.

» December 9, 1965: OF Frank Robinson is traded from Cincinnati to the Orioles for pitchers Milt Pappas and Jack Baldschun and OF Dick Simpson. The Reds Bill DeWitt defends the trade by labeling Robinson "an old 30,"a concept that Robinson will quickly prove wrong.

» December 5, 1966: Bill DeWitt sells the Reds to a group of Cincinnati investors for an estimated $7 million.
