» August 4, 1913: George Cutshaw celebrates the holiday by lining two inside-the-park homers as Brooklyn beats the visiting Cubs, 71.
» April 15, 1915: Rube Marquard, who lost 22 games for the Giants in 1914, pitches a 20 no-hitter over Brooklyn in the Giants' 2nd game of the season. The loser is Nap Rucker, who pitched a no-hitter in 1908. Rube faces just 30 batters, walking Casey Stengel and Zack Wheat, while George Cutshaw reaches on an error.
» June 17, 1915: George "Zip" Zabel comes out of the Cubs bullpen with two outs in the first and winds up with a 43 nineteen-inning 43 win over Brooklyn, the longest relief job ever. Brooklyn starter Jeff Pfeffer scatters 15 hits as he labors 18 1/3 innings, only to lose on an errant throw by 2B George Cutshaw.
» August 9, 1915: George Cutshaw goes 6for6 to lead Brooklyn to a 130 pasting of the Cubs. He's the first player in 14 years to collect six hits in a game.
» June 26, 1916: The Dodgers split with the Giants, losing 118 before winning the nitecap, 21. New York takes a 60 lead in the opener, but the Dodgers score five in the 5th off starter Bill Perritt, then put two on against reliever Rube Schauer. Christy Mathewson then takes over and George Cutshaw cranks a 3-run homer to give the Dodgers an 86 lead. Matty allows just one other hit and New York comes back against Duster Mails to win. It is Mathewson's last major league victory. During the game, police at the Polo Grounds and arrest three fans for not throwing back baseballs hit into the stands.
» July 16, 1916: At Chicago, the Cubs and Brooklyn play a 16-inning 77 tie, called on account of darkness. In the 10th inning, the Cubs George Cutshaw swipes home to knot the score.
» January 9, 1918: Brooklyn sends OF Casey Stengel and infielder George Cutshaw to Pittsburgh for P Burleigh Grimes, P Al Mamaux, and infielder Chuck Ward.
