On August 30, 1969 with the Senators, Cullen tied a ML record for second basemen by committing three errors in one inning. In 1970 he led AL second basemen with a .994 fielding percentage. The San Francisco native's best batting average came as a utility man in his last season, when he hit .261 across the bay in Oakland. (TJ)

» February 13, 1968: The White Sox trade SS Ron Hansen and pitchers Dennis Higgins and Steve Jones to Washington for pitchers Bob Priddy and Les Narum and IF Tim Cullen.

» August 2, 1968: A day after he hit a grand slam against the Tigers, the Senators trade SS Ron Hansen to the White Sox for IF Tim Cullen.

» July 15, 1969: With President Nixon attending his 5th game of the season, the Senators beat the Tigers again, 7–3. The Tigers pull off the first triple play of the year when Eddie Brinkman grounds to 3B Don Wert. Tim Cullen, hitting .206, drives in four runs with a single, double and home run.

» August 30, 1969: Washington 2B Tim Cullen ties a major-league record with three consecutive errors in the 8th inning, but the Senators beat Oakland 11–3. Frank Howard leads the offense with four hits, including his 41st home run, and his 1st stolen base in three years.
