Crim was a last-minute, non-roster invitee to the Brewers' 1987 camp, but made the club with a 1.08 spring ERA. He was a set-up man and spot starter until becoming a closer, saving 12 games, after Dan Plesac hurt his elbow. Back in middle relief thereafter, he led the AL in appearances in 1988 and 1989. In December 1991 he was traded to the Angels for reliever Mike Fetters. (JCA)
