Crider, a junkballer, was a mediocre spot starter and long relief man for the pitching-thin 1970 White Sox. In one performance against the Red Sox, Crider allowed a game-winning home run off the bat of Vicente Romo - Boston's relief pitcher. It was the only homer of Romo's eight-year career. (RL)
