An everyday outfielder with the Reds in 1931-32, Crabtree was buried in the St. Louis farm system after 1933. He came back up in 1941 as a 4-F wartime player, having lost a kidney due to an outfield collision. Crabtree was born in Crabtree, Ohio. (JK)
