In 1922, as a 31-year-old rookie with Cincinnati, Couch was a lucky 16-9. One writer stated, "If Couch allowed no runs, the Reds would make one. If he allowed five, his mates would make six." Couch's luck ran out; 1922 was his only winning season. (AL)
