FROM THE BASEBALL CHRONOLOGY
» August 30, 1992: Boston 1B Scott Cooper records five hits in the Red Sox 4-2, 10-inning win over the Angels.

» October 3, 1992: In a battle of also-rans at Fenway Park, the Red Sox trip the Yankees, 7–5, with the win going to Gardner, who throws 6 2/3 innings of relief. Scott Cooper and Phil Plantier hits HRs for the Sox, who end the season's power outage with 84 home runs. Except for the strike year of '94, this is the only season since 1945 the Sox have not reached 100 dingers. Slugger Jack Clark drops from 28 to 5 road homers this year.

» April 12, 1994: Boston 3B Scott Cooper hits for the cycle while going 5-for-6 in the Red Sox- 22-11 victory over KC. It is the most runs ever scored in a game against the Royals.

» April 8, 1995: The Red Sox trade 3B Scott Cooper, P Cory Bailey, and a player to be named to the Cardinals for OF Mark Whiten, and P Rheal Cormier.

» May 12, 1995: The Dodgers defeat the Cardinals, 8-4, in a sloppy game marked by an even dozen errors. Third basemen Scott Cooper of St. Louis and Garey Ingram of LA each make three miscues. It is the most errors made in an National League game since June 11, 1959.

» May 27, 1997: Kansas City takes a 2-0 lead into the ninth before the visiting A's -- held to one hit for eight-plus innings by Jose Rosado -- get a two-run homer from Mark McGwire and a solo shot from Scott Spiezio to take the lead. Pinch-hitter Scott Cooper's homer in the bottom of the ninth then ties it. The A's bat around in the 10th, scoring five runs, and the Royals three-run answer falls short as the A's win, 8–6.
