Clines batted .405 in his 31-game 1970 major-league debut. A fourth outfielder for Pittsburgh, he was noted for his defensive skills. Besides batting .308 in 1971, "Road Runner" stole 15 bases. After hitting .334 in 107 contests in 1972, his hitting declined. The Cubs made him a coach in 1979. (TJ)
