» March 31, 1993: The Cardinals trade P Mark Clark and SS Juan Andujar to the Indians in exchange for OF Mark Whiten. Whiten will have his best season for Cards in '93.

» March 31, 1996: Hours before Opening Day, the Mets add a 5th starter to replace three of their ailing young arms on the DL. New York sends the expendable Ryan Thompson and pitcher Reid Cornelius to the Indians for Mark Clark. Clark was 20–10 over the past two seasons.

» May 18, 1996: Mets' backstop Todd Hundley drives in seven runs and Mark Clark wins, 14–5, over the Giants. SS Rey Ordonez gets four hits and almost makes four throwing errors—he's charged with 2—but Rico Brogna at first retrieves two for outs. Clark's win is his 2nd complete game: no other Met has gone the distance.

» August 8, 1997: The Mets trade OF Lance Johnson, P Mark Clark, and IF Manny Alexander to the Cubs for pitchers Mel Rojas and Turk Wendell, and OF Brian McRae. The Cubs also waive Terry Mulholland to the Giants.

» June 14, 1998: Carlton Loewer pitches an impressive complete game 5–hitter in his ML debut to lead the Phils to a 4–2 win over the visiting Cubs. Loewer walks none and strikes out eight and at one stretch retires 14 straight. Mark Clark goes five innings for the Cubs to take the loss. The last complete game debut was by Boston's Nate Minchey, who beat the Indians 11–1 on September 12, 1993. The last National League complete–game debut was by Pittsburgh's Tim Wakefield, who beat the Cards, 3–2, on July 31, 1992.
