The 5'5" 150-lb infielder played in more than 2,600 games, mostly in the minors, including a seven-season stretch with Atlanta (Sally League) in which he never missed a game. With Pueblo of the Western League, he once made nine straight hits in a doubleheader and hit two homers in his first two at-bats the next day for 25 total bases on 11 hits. Altogether he spent 53 years in baseball as player, coach, scout, and manager. (NLM)
