The Scottish-born spitballer went 25-6 for Scranton (New York State League) in 1910,
and was purchased by the Phillies. He was 13-10, his ML best, in 1911. He pitched
well in Game Four of the 1915 World Series, but lost to the Red Sox 2-1.
