» May 31, 1996: Rookie OF Roger Cedeno strokes five hits to lead the Dodgers to a 10–3 victory over the Mets. Bobby Jones, winner of five straight, takes the loss, as the Dodgers pound out 16 hits. Ramon Martinez is the winner; he's now won 10 straight over 15 starts.

» June 13, 1996: Roger Cedeno hits his first ML homer to lead the Dodgers to a 6–3 win over Tom Glavine and the Braves.

» December 1, 1998: The Mets trade C Todd Hundley and minor league P Arnold Gooch to the Dodgers for C Charles Johnson and OF Roger Cedeno. They then swap Johnson to the Orioles for P Armando Benitez.

» December 23, 1999: The Mets obtain P Mike Hampton and OF Derek Bell from the Astros OF Roger Cedeno and pitchers Octavio Dotel and Kyle Kessel.

» May 24, 2000: The Phillies defeat the Astros, 9-7, overcoming a 7-0 deficit. It is the 2nd time within a week that Houston has blown a 7-run advantage. The Astros also lose CF Roger Cedeno who breaks two bones in his right hand and will miss two months.

» December 11, 2000: The Tigers obtain P Chris Holt, OF Roger Cedeno, and C Mitch Meluskey from the Astros for C Brad Ausmus, and pitchers Doug Brocail and Nelson Cruz. Houston catchers threw out 22% of base stealers in 2000, while Ausmus gunned down 42%.

» August 15, 2001: The Tigers defeat the Angels, 5–1, as Detroit OF Roger Cedeno leads the team with five hits.

» December 13, 2001: The Mets sign free agent OF Roger Cedeno to a 4-year, $18 million contract and free agent P David Weathers to a 3-year pact worth $9.4 million.
