» August 4, 1998: The Orioles Mike Mussina carries a no-hitter into the 8th before allowing a double to Frank Catalanotto. He ends with a 2–hit, 4–0, win at Detroit. Broadcasting the game is the long–time voice of the Tigers, Ernie Harwell. Ernie is celebrating his golden anniversary, starting as an announcer for the Dodgers on August 4, 1948. The Dodgers had to trade a player, Cliff Dapper, to the Atlanta Crackers to acquire Harwell.

» September 25, 1998: In the 3rd inning of a 7–5 Tiger win, Toronto starter Woody Williams serves up consecutive homers to Juan Encarnacion and Frank Catalanotto, walks a batter, and tees up another gopher for Tony Clark.

» November 2, 1999: The Rangers trade OF Juan Gonzalez, P Danny Patterson and C Gregg Zaun to the Tigers in exchange for pitchers Justin Thompson, Alan Webb and Francisco Cordero, OF Gabe Kapler, C Bill Haselman, and IF Frank Catalanotto.

» May 17, 2000: The Rangers defeat the Devil Rays, 11-6, as 1B Frank Catalanotto gets five hits in the game.

» May 18, 2000: The Rangers defeat the Orioles, 8-7. Frank Catalanotto gets three hits for the Rangers, and extends his consecutive hit streak to a team-record 10 before making an out.

» July 18, 2001: A train carrying toxic substances derails in Baltimore, causing the postponement of the second game of the Orioles day-night doubleheader against the Rangers. Texas takes the first game, 6–4, behind Frank Catalanotto's 4-for-4, battering Sean Douglass (0-1) in his ML debut.

» December 30, 2002: The Blue Jays sign free agent OF Frank Catalanotto to a contract.
