Slick-fielding Castleman was the Giants' third baseman in 1956 and cracked 14 home
runs, but his .226 batting average put him back on the bench the next year. Waived
to the Orioles, he was handed the shortstop job in 1958, but his weak bat (.170)
kept him from keeping it; Willie Miranda took it away by hitting .200.
