In 1964, poised 19-year-old Wally Bunker burst into the ML with a one-hit shutout, victories in his first six starts, and a 19-5 rookie year with Baltimore. He developed a sore arm the next year and was only a part-time pitcher after that. He threw a six-hit shutout in the 1966 WS and won 12 games for the expansion Kansas City Royals in 1969 before arm miseries ended his career. (JK)

» October 8, 1966: In game three Paul Blair's home run and Wally Bunker's 6-hit pitching give the Orioles a 1–0 win, as the World Series moves to Baltimore.

» October 15, 1968: Roger Nelson is the initial choice of the Royals in the American League expansion draft. Don Mincher is the Pilots' first choice. Other Seattle selections include Tommy Harper, Tommy Davis, Gary Bell, and Lou Piniella. Kansas City chooses Wally Bunker, Moe Drabowsky, Hoyt Wilhelm, and Joe Foy.

» September 3, 1970: The Twins Leo Cardenas hits a Wally Bunker pitch in the 8th inning off the foul pole, but the umps rule it a foul ball.
