His ML career consisted of only nine games, but Brown was far more successful in the political arena. In 1923 he became the first Democratic governor of New Hampshire in 65 years. He served as U.S. Senator from 1933 to 1939. In 1939 he was appointed Comptroller General of the United States. (BC)
