The voice of the Braves and Red Sox for ten years in the 1940s and '50s, Britt concentrated on the Braves when the Red Sox began airing road games. When the two Boston clubs decided to employ separate announcers, Britt was given his choice. He chose the Braves, and Curt Gowdy got the Red Sox job. When his team moved to Milwaukee in 1954, Britt went to Cleveland for four years, returning to Boston in 1958 to work TV news. He broadcast seven All-Star games and five WS, as well as doing football telecasts during the 1950s. (NLM)
