ť January 6, 1994: The Reds sign free agent P Jeff Brantley.

ť November 10, 1997: The Reds trade P Jeff Brantley to the Cardinals in exchange for 1B Dmitri Young.

ť November 19, 1998: The Phillies trade pitchers Ricky Bottalico and Garrett Stephenson to the Cardinals for OF Ron Gant, pitchers Jeff Brantley and Cliff Politte, and cash.
