Pitching for the Twins in 1967, Boswell racked up 204 strikeouts as he, Jim Kaat, and Dean Chance became the first three pitchers on the same team to strike out 200 each in one season. In 1969 he went 20-12 and was involved in an off-the-field scuffle with teammate Bob Allison which resulted in Boswell getting punched by manager Billy Martin. In the 1969 LCS, he lost to the Orioles 1-0 in ten innings. (RTM)

» July 5, 1965: Minnesota takes an AL lead it will not give up, as Dave Boswell and Jim Perry pitch the Twins to a 6–2 and 2–0 sweep of the Red Sox. The Sox win just one of 18 games with the Twins this year.

» July 30, 1966: The Twins Dave Boswell allows just a 7th inning single to Snyder in beating the Orioles, 7–0.

» September 2, 1967: Minnesota takes the American League lead on Dave Boswell's 5–0 victory over Denny McLain and Detroit.

» September 19, 1967: Boston rallies again to beat Detroit 4–2, scoring three runs in the 9th inning. Jose Santiago (10–4) wins for the 2nd time in two days. The loss drops Detroit from 1st place down to 4th. Dave Boswell throws a 2-hitter to give the Twins an 8–2 win over the Royals. Joel Horlen wins his 18th game, a 3–0 blanking of the Angels, to leave the Sox in 3rd place, a half-game behind the co-leaders, Boston and the Twins.

» August 6, 1969: Twins manager Billy Martin punches out his P Dave Boswell after a scuffle between Boswell and teammate Bob Allison. Boswell is hospitalized and requires 20 stitches. The Twins win today, 3–1, behind Jim Perry's 7th straight win.
