»June 19, 1993: Pittsburgh GM and former major league catcher Ted Simmons resigns after suffering a heart attack on June 8. He is succeeded by Cam Bonifay.
»June 11, 2001: Pirates owner Kevin McClatchy fires Cam Bonifay. Seven losing seasons and several ill-fated free-agent signings do in the long-time GM. New GM Dave Littlefield will start July 13 and wholesale housecleaning will start soon thereafter.
