A first-round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 1996 draft, two years before the team officially began play, Bierbrodt became a part of the rotation in 2001. But with Arizona in the middle of a pennant run, the young lefty was dealt in late July to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for veteran pitcher Albie Lopez and catcher Mike DiFelice. (AG)
