22-year-old Peter Bergeron won the Expos' leadoff man and center-field job after beating out fellow prospect Milton Bradley during a 2000 spring training battle. In his rookie year Bergeron played in 148 games for Montreal, batting .245 with five home runs, 80 runs scored and 11 steals. (AGL)
